The second Progressive Publics Symposium took place in Montreal on February 28th and March 1st, produced by Dr. Shama Rangwala (YorkU) and Andre Goulet (Unrigged/Harbinger) and featuring conversations with scholars and the independent journalism community exploring topics like surveillance and prison abolition, Canadian media and Palestine, data justice, the future of journalism, marginalized voices in the public sphere, and more.

The inaugural Progressive Publics Symposium took place in Toronto on November 8-9, hosted by Dr. Shama Rangwala (YorkU) and Andre Goulet (Harbinger).

It featured interviews and panels with academics and independent media on topics such as environmental and data justice, Black Canadian journalism, race and popular culture, and Canadian imperialism.
